Dream Dinners Co-Founder and Cancer Survivor, Tina Kuna Walks with her Daughter Lauren.
Why we're involved: Mothers. Daughters. Dearest women we love!
In 2011, just days before Dream Dinners Co-founder, Tina Kuna's new book was scheduled to go to print, her story changed. Diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer during a routine exam, her plans for a publicity tour with her co-founder and co-author Stephanie Allen were put on hold as Tina underwent three phases of treatment. Before she even finished, she knew she wanted to walk the 60-mile Susan G. Komen 3-Day with her daughter, Lauren. And they did. In September of 2012, joined by loved ones in a poignant experience and pivotal time in her life, they began a journey to help other women know the importance of routine exams.
"Now that I have completed my year long cancer treatment and can officially call myself a "survivor," says Tina, "it seemed fitting to celebrate by walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. It was truly an amazing experience to share with my daughter, sister and sister-in-law as we walked together as Team Kuna to honor our "warriors" who have been affected by cancer. Thank you for your support of our efforts, as well as the goal to end breast cancer!"
Blessings,

Additionally, we would like to thank everyone who participated by purchasing the Central Park Garlic Chicken dinner in August. With your support we raised $11,332! Of that, $5,666 went to Cook for Cancer and $5,666 went to "The Walk for the Cure".
