Guest Favorite Guest Favorites: Flaky cod dipped in light batter and pan fried, and served with a classic tangy tartar sauce and our favorite Salt & Pepper Fries.
Thaw in refrigerator.
*Prepare Salt and Pepper Fries per the cooking instructions provided.*
1.Add about 1 inch of oil to a medium saucepot and preheat for 5 min. (preferably vegetable oil). Heat oil to about 350°F. NOTE: oil should not be smoking.
2.While oil is heating, combine contents of wet and dry batter bags in medium mixing bowl. Add 1/3 cup of water and whisk to combine, breaking up all lumps and set aside.
3.Place tangy tartar sauce in a bowl and stir to combine. Set aside.
4.Pat cod fillets dry with paper towel. Slice each fillet into 3 strips.
5.Once oil has come to temperature, dip cod strip into batter, covering completely. Allow excess batter to drip off.
6.Immediately pan fry 3 pieces of battered cod at a time, cook for 2-3 min. per side or until completely golden brown and crispy. Place cooked fish on paper towel to drain excess oil.
7.Serve immediately with tangy tartar sauce and fries.
