Large breast turkey generously rubbed with savory, herbed compound butter. Serves 10-12 with leftovers.
Thaw in refrigerator (3-4 days)
1.Preheat oven to 350°F degrees, remove turkey and compound butter from packaging and pat turkey dry so compound butter easily spreads. On a cutting board or clean kitchen surface, evenly massage turkey breast with entire contents of compound butter bag throughout the surface of the turkey.
2.Place seasoned turkey in a shallow pan, add 1 cup of water .
3.Loosely cover with foil and cook 2 hours. Using meat thermometer, check temp. When at 135°F, remove foil and cook for an additional 30 min. or until internal temp. reaches 155°F.
4.Remove turkey from oven, turkey will continue to cook (to internal temp of 165°F) as it rests for 20 min. covered with foil.
(Total cooking time depending upon size, may range from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours)
NOTE: If pre-slicing your turkey, use juices at bottom of the pan to baste turkey to keep moist. If making homemade gravy, use excess turkey juices.
